About The Team
The Student Success Assistant supports the broader Student Success Team in enhancing student transition, progression, and achievement across the lifecycle for both domestic and international students. The role also contributes to university-wide initiatives that improve graduation outcomes for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students, whether studying onshore or online.
Your New Role!
This casual, entry-level role provides frontline support to current students, offering course information, guidance on university processes, and referrals to support services. Under the guidance of a Student Success Advisor, the assistant delivers pastoral care and conducts outreach to individuals and cohorts needing extra support to succeed in their studies.
Your key responsibilities will include –
Provide in-person, phone, and online advice on course planning, enrolment, university processes, support services, visa compliance (for international students) and strategies for academic success
Under guidance from a Student Success Advisor, offer pastoral care and conduct outreach to at-risk students, including large-scale campaigns during key academic periods
Triage student queries, escalate complex cases, maintain course materials, log interactions, and support initiatives that enhance student success and experience

This Casual position attracts a remuneration of $45.95 – 50.36 per hour inclusive of 25% casual loading plus 12% employer superannuation contributions.

What you’ll bring to the role:
Minimum 6 months in customer-focused role, with a strong ability to understand and meet client needs
Successful completion of first-year undergraduate studies at Murdoch University or a completed undergraduate degree from another institution
Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy
Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database software
