Summary
The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) Undergraduate Recruitment Office at Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Student Recruiter II who will assist and support the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment as a key member of the College’s recruitment team, focusing on prospective student correspondence, campus visit programs and providing support for LAS departmental initiatives.
Duties include assisting with outreach, recruitment, and yield activities for prospective undergraduate students (primarily first year); leading on-campus events programming (e.g. Experience Iowa State, Admitted Student Day, Destination Iowa State). This position is also responsible for appointing, training, and supervising the LAS Student Ambassadors. The recruitment team’s efforts focus on the establishment of a comprehensive recruitment strategy that reflects the vision and strategic plan of the College and will increase the effectiveness of all recruitment programs (international, transfer and first year).
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate verbally, virtually, and in writing; possess excellent computer skills to organize and manage recruitment and CRM data/communications; and strong interpersonal skills. The candidate will also possess knowledge of student development, the ability to solve problems and resolve conflicts, and the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals in roles external to ISU and across campus.
Example of Duties
Participate in and conduct recruitment and yield activities for prospective students to increase the enrollment in the College's programs.
Coordinate and host daily visits, department visits, and Experience Iowa State group visits.
Represent the LAS College at recruitment activities and events, effectively include and coordinate college-wide faculty/staff participants when appropriate/needed, and manage LAS Student Ambassador participation.
Create and manage appropriate ongoing communications and presentation materials, targeting specific prospective student and current student audiences.
Attend regular staff meetings and staff development events; prepare, analyze, and distribute duty-related reports and information; manage prospective student correspondence; and serve on committees/participate in standing recruitment and admissions meetings as requested.
Create Ambassador training materials and supervise their overall experience.
Serve as a resource to advisors, faculty, and staff regarding recruitment activities and events.
Participate actively in the activities, events, and life of the College and the Undergraduate Recruitment Team, and other opportunities as assigned or directed.
