Learn and perform activities for staff that are absent or might otherwise require assistance in the performance of their daily activities such as settling money market or listed securities, corporate action event processing and reconciliation of investment activities
Recommend ways to improve effectiveness or efficiency of current processes
Review the external websites being used by the team and help team extract relevant data in the form of reports
Using Excel, perform analysis of data, identify anomalies and trends, and report on results
Review and document processes for undocumented activities
Completion of second- or third-year undergraduate studies in Business, Math, or Computer Science
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook
Ability to function with high degree of autonomy and to seek guidance when production issues arise.
Resolve issues under strict timelines
Ability to perform root cause analysis involving detail-oriented, problem solving and research skills to identify inconsistencies and data breaks.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to handle high volumes while maintaining efficiency and complying with stated controls
Independent learner with ability to resolve issues in a fast-paced environment
As the successful Co-op, Public Market Operations you will learn about the functions of a high performing team and will assist them in delivering on their objectives. Playing an important role, you will contribute to the broader Public Market Operations team by assisting the team in performing their daily settlement activities, reviewing corporate action events, reconciling internal systems to external bank balances, and recommending ways to improve effectiveness.
End of Term Success will see the successful candidate being able to understand and perform all day to day functions undertaken by the Public Market Operations team and identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness of the team and implement change.
