Student Nurse Tech (SNT)

Position Summary / Career Interest:
As a current professional nursing student, provides clinical support to patients with the oversight of leadership and the students' affiliated school. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs technical skills under the direction of the nurse.
Must Be Enrolled in (1) of the following BSN Programs to Qualify:
- Missouri Western State University
- William Jewell
- Park University
Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Assist with appropriate patient care and interventions as delegated by the nurse.
- Report outcomes and changes in patient condition to the nurse.
- Collaborate with the nurse in the plan of care.
- Report observations regarding effectiveness of intervention to the nurse.
- Communicate effectively with patient, family, physicians, and health care team.
- Apply safety and infection control measures.
- Documentation of patient care provided in the clinical record
- Continuing education as assigned
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
- Actively enrolled in a professional nursing education program and has completed a fundamentals of nursing course
Preferred Education and Experience
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Less than 1 year recent experience in an acute care setting.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
