The Role: Student Nurse Internship - Summer 2026
The Opportunity:
MaineGeneral Health is proud to be entering its ninth year of offering Student Nurse Internship Opportunities in the summer! Start building your Nursing Career and gain experience at MaineGeneral Health!
We have 12 openings available for nursing students entering their final year of nursing school. These are paid internship positions!
Candidates must be active on the State of Maine CNA registry before the internship begins in May 2026. This amazing opportunity consists of working two 12-hour shifts a week as a CNA in a med/surg department. In addition to these shift assignments, there are paid job observations/shadows in various specialty areas during the internship.
You will be able to gain experience in med/surg while observing in specialty areas of interest. You will have input into your job shadow choices!
The opportunity will exist to retain your per diem CNA position after the 8-week internship is over. You can continue to work at MaineGeneral, one of the leading community healthcare systems in the state, supplementing your income while you are in school.
Come immerse yourself in our culture and see why we are one of the best places to work for perspective nurses!
