Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Position Summary
Join our dynamic imaging team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, where you’ll operate advanced nuclear scintillation equipment to produce high‑quality diagnostic images and deliver exceptional patient care. Working under general direction, you’ll perform a variety of routine nuclear medicine procedures following established clinical standards. This role may require travel between SARMC and SAMC‑Nampa locations.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Certification
- NMTCB or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) registration, or current enrollment in an NMTCB‑ or ARRT‑approved radiology program.
- Proof of active enrollment required each term.
- Senior students must provide graduation‑eligibility documentation 30 days before graduation.
- Registry exam must be passed within 90 days of completing an NMTCB‑ or ARRT‑recognized program.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network) required upon hire unless ACLS/PALS meets standards outlined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical, scientific, and professional knowledge of nuclear medicine and radiologic procedures.
- Proficiency with imaging equipment and the Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to instruct and support patients and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
What You’ll Do

- Produce clear, high‑quality diagnostic images as ordered by radiologists, cardiologists, or physicians.
- Prepare and position patients, and provide clear instructions before, during, and after procedures.
- Process imaging studies following established protocols to ensure optimal image quality.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organized work environment aligned with MMC infection control standards.
- Adhere to radiation safety practices to protect patients and colleagues.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of radioisotopes, including dosage monitoring and allergy screening.
- Deliver patient care that prioritizes safety, comfort, and a positive experience.
- Follow proper medical and surgical aseptic techniques.
- Complete additional assignments or projects as directed by the regional nuclear medicine lead.
