Length of term: 4 months (May 4-Aug 28)

Partnerships & Innovation

This role will provide strategic support to senior executives within Digital Business & Technology Solutions and to our various internal partners throughout the organization specifically in Corporate Innovation. Focus for this role will be in innovation, research, and strategy for the Partnerships and Innovation portfolio.

What will you do?

The Junior Strategy Analyst’s main accountabilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partnerships and innovation – Global support for our Innovation executives, delivery teams and our ecosystem partners to define and advance our Global Partnerships and Innovation ambitions. This may include coordination of ideation workshops, engagement meetings and other lean innovation processes. Support the global innovation strategy by working with internal stakeholders and external ecosystem partners to support an overall vision, framework, and project management.  

  • Research – Support the research and communication of emerging technology trends through executive-level presentations, workshops, and technology briefs.

  • Communications – Support the launch and rollout of innovation activities across the organization through executive-level communications, reporting and business development.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or equivalent degree with a focus (i.e. major) on one of the following:

    • Engineering or Technology, with supporting education or experience in business management.

    • Business Management, Entrepreneurship, or Innovation Management with supporting education or experience in digital technology
    • Humanities or Communications, with supporting education or experience in both business management and digital technology.

  • Excellent MS PowerPoint skills, including an understanding of presentation process (storyboard to finished product and speaker notes).

  • Excellent MS Excel skills in the context of financial management, including the corresponding ability to visualize, interpret and report results.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Writing skills include an ability to translate technical content into laymen terms consumable by senior executive readers.

  • A demonstrated interest in digital innovation.

  • Requirement: In-office day in Toronto at least once a week.

Not necessary, but considered an asset:

  • Experience or proven familiarity with design thinking methodology and client centered design.
  • Participation in student venture capital or startup accelerator programming.
  • Experience with executive/senior management communications, e.g., workshops, reporting to executives, or communications to a broad external audience.
  • A problem solver at the core of your skills, someone who is creative and always searching for new ways of approaching things will do well in this position.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
