Scope/Position Summary
The Radiology Student Intern plays a critical role in supporting expanded evening and weekend imaging operations across multiple outpatient locations. As imaging sites such as Martha Morehouse, Outpatient Care Lewis Center, Gahanna, New Albany, Dublin, Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute, Stephanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center, and James Outpatient Care extend their hours to improve MRI access, consistent front desk coverage has become essential. These locations now require staffing from 4:00 PM–10:00 PM on weekdays and from 7:30 AM–10:00 PM on weekends. Technologists working these shifts are often the only clinical staff on site and cannot simultaneously manage patient care, perform imaging exams, and operate the front desk. Without Student Intern or Registration Coordinator support, expanded hours would not be sustainable, and efforts to increase MRI availability would be significantly limited.
Student Interns provide a blend of clerical and clinical assistance, including managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, preparing patients for exams, and supporting technologists. This paid, hourly role offers meaningful exposure to healthcare and requires strong communication skills, professionalism, and adaptability. Interns train at all outpatient imaging locations and may work up to two years, including academic breaks. Scheduling expectations include two weekday evening shifts per week (4:00 PM–10:00 PM) and 2–4 weekend shifts per month. This position is ideal for students seeking hands‑on experience in a dynamic, patient‑facing environment while contributing directly to improved patient access and operational efficiency.
