As a member of the Global Equities team at OMERS Capital Markets, you will be working on a team that manages over $15 billion on behalf of OMERS members. The team employs a fundamental investment process incorporating bottom-up and top-down analysis to identify high quality businesses trading at reasonable valuations with a focus on mitigating the risk of permanent capital impairment, while generating the returns required of the program, with a long-term investment perspective.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

- Develop and implement quantitative analytical tools involving large amounts of data from a wide spectrum of data types.
- Deliver the analytic result in simple and convenient visualization.

- Assist PMs with portfolio construction analysis, trade execution support, monitoring of portfolio risk, and preparing reports and insights on portfolio positioning.

- Conduct research on portfolio construction questions, macro trends, and cross-sector themes to support both the Research team and PMs.
- Work closely with colleagues across Capital Markets.


To succeed in this role, you are:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

  • Strong academic track record combined with extra-curricular experience.

  • Previous experience (including co/op or internship) in capital markets, pensions or asset management is a strong plus.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint and programming languages (e.g Python, VBA, or SQL); Experience with tools such as Bloomberg, Power BI, or Power Automate is a plus.

  • Familiar with basic data analytics concepts and ideally have some experience working with large datasets or simple statistical models through coursework or projects.

  • Foundational understanding of portfolio construction principles, risk metrics, or asset management concepts, or a strong willingness to learn.

  • A creative and enquiring mind

  • Good communication skills, team working ability and integrity

The expected salary range for this position is $66,300.00 - $87,750.00 per year, prorated based on the term of the contract.
