Job Description:

Be part of an innovative team! In this role, you will work in the Finance Reporting Solutions - Operations (FRS) team, playing an integral role within the financial reporting process for internal, external, and regulatory reporting documents that will ultimately go to Senior Management, Board of Directors, and/or the public. Being part of the FRS team means you will be continually challenged to learn, grow, and develop your skills.

Work Term : 8-months (September 2026 – April 2027)

What will you do?

  • Support and facilitate the quarterly and annual external, internal, and regulatory reporting process for Sun Life Financial and Sun Life Assurance, including preparation of the data for the Financial Statements and Notes, Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), Financial Supplement, Management Reporting and Life-1 filing.

  • Support the data-driven aspect within financial reporting process across Corporate Finance teams to meet key reporting deliverables and ensure accuracy of the financial information.

  • Liaise with various stakeholders across Corporate Finance and Business Groups to understand changing business requirements and deliver on their needs.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities in our reporting processes and provide recommendations to eliminate manual recurring processes.

  • Learn about Sun Life's financial reporting and business processes and use best-in-class tools to complete quarter-ends.

  • Other ad-hoc requests/projects as required.

What do you need to succeed?

  • This opportunity is available to students with a April 2027 or later graduation date.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited accounting, commerce, or business undergraduate program at a post-secondary institution, with the intention to obtain a CPA designation.

  • Available for 8-month co-op term (September 2026 – April 2027)

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal direction and frequent interruptions.

  • Ability to be proactive thinking several steps ahead to understand and address needs.

  • Ability to thrive in an environment with pressing deadlines and constantly changing conditions.

  • Demonstrated academic excellence and leadership ability.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and excellent interpersonal relations to interact professionally with people at all levels of the company.

  • Proficiency working with Microsoft Office, Workiva and ability to learn new software applications quickly.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Must possess a high level of commitment and dedication to the role and the team.

  • Flexibility and commitment to work overtime as required.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
