Opportunity

AIMCo’s Data Product Delivery team helps build end to end data products, Power BI dashboards, and analytics on our scalable cloud data mesh. As a student on the team, you will work on business critical reporting and analytics initiatives, learning modern data engineering and visualization practices while contributing to impactful projects. Responsibilities:

  • Develop data pipelines to extract, load, and transform data from various sources into cloud-based data warehouses and data lakes.

  • Design and implement data processing workflows that are highly optimized for their cloud-native environment.

  • Collaborate with senior developers and data architects to design and implement scalable and reliable data architectures on cloud platforms.

  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining the performance of cloud-based data warehouses and data pipelines, troubleshoot issues, and optimize query performance.

  • Work with data analysts to understand data requirements and design data models that enable effective reporting and analysis.

Our Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data manipulation and analysis

  • Experience with Power BI for data visualization and reporting

  • Familiarity with Spark and ETL processes for data integration

  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles

  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git

  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements

Success Measures:

As the successful student, you will complete your work term with a sense of pride and accomplishment regarding all the new skills and knowledge you were able to attain. You will gain an understanding of the team’s platforms, and processes. The connections you will build within and outside of the team should be able to rave about all the great work you did to make the jobs of others more streamlined and effective.
