Job Description:

We are looking to hire a Student, Compensation Analyst to support the Compensation team this summer. The Canada Total Rewards team develops and delivers compensation, benefits, and retirement/savings programs for the company. We determine how to pay our people in a way that optimizes our spend and furthers our Purpose, which is to help our Clients achieve lifetime financial security and live healthier lives. We have deep technical expertise and a desire to offer our employees modern, compelling, and relevant rewards.

Work Model: This opportunity is a hybrid position with a 1 - 2 day in-office requirement working from our Sun Life Toronto One York Office - 1 York Street, Toronto, ON, M5J 0B6.

What will you do?

  • Help our team make informed decisions by deriving insights though relevant data analysis (e.g. compensation benchmarking)

  • Contribute to key projects or work streams, including salary structure design, and salary increase cycles

  • Evaluate jobs using Sun Life’s job evaluation methodology

  • Support the delivery of foundational Total Rewards programs

What do you need to succeed?

  • Working towards a degree or diploma in human resources, business, or another relevant major and/or relevant, transferrable work experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel

  • High attention to detail

  • Strong math and analytical skills

  • Ability to take initiative and employ critical thinking

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with professionalism and a high regard for privacy and confidentiality

  • Curiosity, an open-mind, and a desire to grow and learn about business, financial services, and HR

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.

Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
