This position is located in Columbus, OH, Franklin County.
Responsibilities will be moderate and less routine and will require responsibility and good judgement. May coordinate activities for other student employees. Requires providing excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work in a professional environment. Requires previous experience and knowledge or skill in student assistant role. Represent the department and the university with the highest degree of integrity applying OSU mission and shared values.
The student will work under the direction of the 4-H Youth Development Program to provide support to a comprehensive program. This employment will be from May until Aug. Schedule may be variable.
Duties for this position include: preparing for and helping with 4-H project judging at the county level; assisting with 4-H community outreach program; assisting with SPIN clubs; assisting with Franklin County 4-H camp; providing assistance to the 4-H Youth Development Educator and Coordinator with the Franklin County Fair, and all components of pre-fair activity such as: assisting with Jr. Fair entries, dog show preparations, pre-fair communications, livestock skillathon materials, and other fair duties as assigned.
The student will provide support for all other 4-H events and programs as needed. These events include the recognition program, junior fair board events, camp counselor trainings, volunteer trainings, school programs, etc. Other duties may include creating social media content and enrollment/recruitment campaign materials.
This position may also assist the Ag/NR and Family Consumer Sciences Extension program areas in Franklin County.
Hours are flexible. This position can work up to 28 hours if taking classes and up to 38 hours during the summer and/or academic breaks.
Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post offer process.
