About This Opportunity  

We are seeking an energetic and customer-focused Student and Academic Administration Assistant to join the Student and Academic Administration Team within the School of Biomedical Sciences. This role is the first point of contact for student enquiries and plays a key role in delivering a welcoming, supportive and high-quality student experience.

Reporting to the Manager, Student and Academic Administration, you will provide a broad range of student administrative support services, delivering accurate, timely and friendly advice to students, academic staff and professional colleagues across all student lifecycle matters

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Providing high-quality advice and support to current and prospective students via email, phone and in-person enquiries.

  • Undertaking administrative processing associated with enrolments, assessments, examinations, study abroad and other student academic matters.

  • Preparing correspondence and maintaining accurate student administration records using University systems.

  • Supporting student administration activities and projects as directed by the Manager, including participation in recruitment and outreach events.

About You

  • Completion of a diploma-level qualification or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.

  • Strong computing skills, particularly in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with a strong commitment to customer service.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and manage competing priorities and deadlines.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy in administrative work.

  • Empathy and the ability to communicate effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Experience using University student systems such as SI-net, iSuite, Business Objects or CRM platforms is desirable.

Appointment to this role is subject to the successful completion of relevant pre-employment checks, which may include verification of the right to work in Australia & criminal check. This may also include checks relating to gender-based violence matters or other integrity and conduct requirements.
