In order to participate in Berklee Student Employment, a student must fulfill the following requirements:
Current student at Berklee College of Music or Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
Enrolled at least half-time in a degree, diploma, or certificate-seeking undergraduate or graduate program. Summer is the only semester in which a student can maintain employment without being enrolled. In this case, the student must be pre-registered for the upcoming fall semester. This exception does not apply to fall or spring semesters.
Have a valid United States Social Security Number (SSN).
Remain in “valid” Visa status as applicable.
A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA. Students in their first semester can work, even though they do not have an official GPA until the completion of their first semester.
Federal Work Study student may apply.
In good disciplinary standing.
Must be located in the U.S.
7-10 hours per week (average), and occasional night and weekend shifts, plus required summer and spring training.
The SAM role is a full academic year and SAMs who are in good standing may work limited summer hours.
Introductory Training: Thursday, August 20 and Friday, August 21, 12-5pm
Winter Training: Friday, January 15, 12-5pm
Weekly Small Team Meetings: Tuesdays at 1pm
Weekly Large Team Meetings: Thursdays at 1pm
Enrolled undergraduate for fall ‘26 and spring ‘27 semesters
Declared in a major (please include in your resume)
Meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
Minimum GPA: 3.0 major GPA & cumulative GPA
Good Community Standing **will be checked before start of fall semester
Ability to work in an evolving environment, often doing self-managed independent projects
Excellent organizational skills and ability to adhere to deadlines
Understanding of the need to be available and flexible given the role’s dynamic nature
A well-rounded understanding of Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s academic system, in addition to a desire to learn more about Berklee’s academic aspects.
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and listening skills
Experience with G-Suite (Google Sheets, Calendar, Docs)
Experience and comfort with having a professional presence on social media (Instagram)
Desire to contribute to a high functioning, positive, and creative team
Provide timely and accurate academic mentoring to undergraduate students in scheduled appointments or drop-ins during office hours on a variety of academic topics, with the support of a team of dedicated supervisors
Plan and attend on-campus events, SAM-hosted activities, and represent Student Success Advising at events hosted in collaboration with other Berklee departments
Create, curate, and occasionally star in social media content
Collect and manage data to measure impact of SAM program
