Structured Pricing Analyst

Job Summary:

Working in a fast-paced team environment, the Structured Pricing Analyst will be a part of the Structuring & DER Team and primarily support Commercial and Industrial (“C&I”) Sales along with other internal business partners. This role will be responsible for the risk analysis of current and prospective customers by quantifying and monitoring risk across wholesale price, volume, and shape risks in line with the company’s risk tolerance. The position will act as a champion of information and provide C&I Sales and other business partners with optimal customer service, transparency, and communication.

The successful candidate will possess an analytical background to structure and price energy contracts, a strong attention to detail in assessing risk, and the ability to collaborate and communicate well with others.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and price structured energy products for complex customer deals.

  • Review sales requests regarding customer specific data, demand normalization errors, historical monthly usage, interval data, pricing concerns, and general market questions from C&I Sales.

  • Evaluate risk on prospective deals by reviewing customer pricing data points and statistical factors to ensure the deals align with IGS’ risk tolerance and portfolio strategy.  

  • Provide analytical support for projects while delivering completed tasks on time, coordinating effectively with stakeholders, and communicating on project deliverables.

  • Develop and maintain robust relationships between the Structuring & DER Team and C&I Sales by providing exceptional service in a collaborative environment.

  • Facilitate strong communication practices with other Sales Support teams to maintain a successful and efficient sales process.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Support ideation and change around processes, models, tools, and analysis for the Structuring & DER Team to support successful workflows with C&I Sales and other business partners.

  • Track and understand wholesale market pricing and forward curves to drive a successful deal pricing strategy.

  • Partner with C&I Sales Representatives, as needed, to provide knowledge and expertise to assist in the sales process, including customer calls and communication channels.

  • Understand and communicate knowledge of utility & power market pricing concepts.

  • Maintain reports and dashboards on key metrics that are distributed internally as needed.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in Power Market Pricing & Analysis, Risk Analysis, and/or Sales Support is preferred but not required.

  • Strong analytical skills in quantitative data analysis to mitigate and evaluate risk exposure.

  • Proficiency in Excel is required, and a working knowledge of SQL and database structures is preferred.

  • Ability to successfully execute multiple complex tasks and/or independently problem solve.

  • Can review a problem and make suggestions on how best to address and mitigate the issue.

  • Strong interest to learn and understand regulatory frameworks, geopolitical factors and commodity price dynamics within the energy market.

  • Proven ability to work on a collaborative and dynamic team, with a focus on strong communication skills.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field of study (Business, Economics, Operations, etc.) 

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Experience working at an ISO, utility, or retail energy provider a plus.

Salary Range:

$54,420.00 - $87,070.00

*This range reflects base pay only. Incentive earnings, like commissions or bonuses, are not included.

This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance.
