Job Details:

Mercer University's Athletics department is searching for a Strength and Conditioning Coach.


 

Responsibilities

To provide comprehensive strength and conditioning programs to Mercer University's student-athlete population as directed by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. The object of the position is to enhance to the student-athlete's strength, flexibility, endurance, speed, power, and agility. The welfare of the student-athlete should always be a priority.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field and at least one year of prior experience working with team sports in a collegiate or professional setting are required. Additionally, candidates should have at least one of the following certifications: Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) or Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS).

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • The ability to effectively communicate with university personnel, including coaches, student-athletes, support staff, and athletic administration; organizational skills;

  • Knowledge of computers or Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Ability to lift 60 lbs overhead with or without reasonable accommodation;

  • Willingness to work on weekends, mornings, evenings, holidays; travel is a possibility.
