The Strategy & Operations Lead will work across clinical initiatives focused on improving outcomes for members with chronic conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), hypertension, and diabetes. The Strategy & Operations Lead will work on diverse and complex problems by bringing their own contributions together with other key stakeholders from across the enterprise and leading end-to-end strategy development and operationalization for top priorities.
Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Best Practice Identification and Translation:
Engage with high-performing and low-performing provider groups to understand clinical workflows and operational drivers that contribute to better chronic condition management.
Translate insights into best practices and operational playbooks.
Drive and synthesize insights across Clinical Analytics, member research, and provider research to inform the strategic roadmap and execution priorities.
Product & Insight Development and Execution:
Co-develop and drive the execution of direct-to-member interventions to improve chronic condition management.
Lead the design and refinement of provider-facing data views (dashboards, insights, performance summaries) to ensure they are actionable, timely, and aligned to provider workflows.
Co-develop and support the execution of interventions to address key barriers for providers (PCPs and specialists).
Work with enterprise partners (e.g., care management, clinical programs, analytics) to ensure alignment and remove operational barriers to member and provider adoption.
Synthesize complex clinical, operational, and analytic information into clear recommendations for executive leadership.
In general, the Strategy & Operations Lead – Clinical Outcomes will:
Engage in an ambiguous problem solving and strategy setting
Use data and insights from experts to identify the greatest opportunities in clinical outcomes, quality, cost, and experience for members and providers
Lead cross-functional teams to define discrete opportunities that are both impactful and achievable
Work directly with cross-functional partners across the enterprise to create the operationalization models, test and learn strategies, performance management strategies, and roadmaps to execute on prioritized opportunities
Lead or support implementation of initiatives in partnership with internal or external teams.
Role Essentials
Bachelor’s degree
7 or more years of experience in population health strategy, health outcomes strategies and/or product strategy OR 3 years of management consulting with additional 2-3 years of professional work experience
Experience in strategy consulting, business strategy, clinical, product, and/or operations areas
Direct people leadership and/or experience leading others by influence
Ability to interpret and leverage data and analytics to improve strategy and make recommendations
Strong communication skills both verbal and written, with ability to flex to different audiences, including senior leadership
Proven skills influencing others and a track record of success leading through ambiguity
Proven organization, planning and prioritization skills to collaborate with multiple enterprise departments and stakeholders; ability to execute within deadlines
Ability to work independently to manage projects to achieve objectives
Competency with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel)
Role Desirables
Master’s level degree
Clinical background (MD, RN, RPh, etc.) preferred
Advanced degree in relevant field or MBA
Exposure or experience with clinical care delivery and interventions
