Strategy Director – Blue Hour Studios

We are seeking a Strategy Director to lead strategic thinking across key accounts, new business, and agency POV. This is a role for a culturally fluent, commercially sharp strategist who can shape direction, inspire teams, and build trust with clients at the highest level.
What You’ll Do Strategy
● Own strategic direction across major client engagements and new business opportunities, translating insight into bold, differentiated social-first and creator-driven ideas.
● Interrogate client briefs to uncover the real business and cultural challenge, defining the strategic foundation for creative, influencer, and platform execution.
● Collaborate closely with account and creative teams to determine the right strategic approach to a client ambition or challenge, and working cross-functionally to make sure we deliver exceptional work.
● Build decks and drive overall narrative of campaign presentations that clearly communicate our ideas, insights, and recommendations, leaving clients captivated and ready to embrace our vision.
● Develop and present clear, thought-provoking strategy deliverables, including social strategy, creative briefs, campaign tactical plans & communications plans.
● Identify trends and opportunities to innovate our agency approach, and help the creative team uncover social-first trends that will inspire breakthrough creative.
● Write creative briefs, and facilitate brainstorms and client workshops to inspire great creative and strategic work.
● Connect strategy to business outcomes by linking brand ambition, audience insight, and performance metrics (ROI, growth, effectiveness).
● Contribute to the evolution of Blue Hour’s strategic methodologies, tools, and social-first POV.
Client Leadership
● Serve as the strategic lead for select client relationships, providing clarity, inspiration, and point of view at the senior level.
● Navigate ambiguity with confidence, setting direction when the client brief is unclear and earning trust through decisive thinking.
● Lead workshops, immersions, and inspiration sessions to help clients stay ahead of cultural, platform, and creator shifts.
● Evaluate campaign performance to surface insights, optimize future strategy, and demonstrate the commercial value of social-first work.
New Business
● Drive strategic development for pitches and proposals, shaping narratives that address real client challenges with original, culturally resonant solutions.
● Partner with Creative and Client leadership to win new business and grow existing accounts through compelling, insight-led positioning.
Who You Are
● A social-first strategist with 7–10+ years of experience in social, influencer, or social-first creative at an agency or brand.
● Extensive experience leading social-first and influencer-driven strategies for major brands with clear examples of shaping POVs, campaign strategy, and creative briefs that influence agency or client direction.
● Deeply fluent in social and creator ecosystems, including platform behaviors, content formats, community dynamics, and influencer landscape.
● Proven experience in translating social, cultural, audience, and platform insights into compelling ideas that deliver measurable brand and business impact.
● A sharp storyteller who distills complexity into structured, persuasive narratives across decks, rooms, and client conversations.
● Commercially minded, able to connect creativity to performance, growth, and ROI.
● A confident leader and mentor who elevates the work of others through clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and high standards.
● Curious, proactive, and creatively brave, energized by emerging platforms, new cultural movements, and non-obvious connections.
● Collaborative by nature, respected across disciplines, and trusted by senior clients.
● Strong command of research and insight tools (e.g., Brandwatch, MRI Simmons, Helixa) and social analytics.
Salary Range: $3,076.92 to $3,653.85 a week. A successful applicant’s actual weekly or hourly rate may vary based upon, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure/certifications, and equity.
