The Role
As Strategy Director, you will play a central role in defining and elevating the agency’s strategic product. As the right hand to the Head of Strategy, you will lead the junior strategy team while partnering closely with Creative, Growth, and Client Services. You will shape and deliver strategy across three core areas: Growth Strategy, Portfolio Strategy, and Project Strategy, with a strong focus on turning insight and intelligence into compelling narrative, experiences, and activations.
The work encompasses both foundational strategic programmes - including global partnership architecture, purpose-driven portfolio frameworks, and narrative development - and ongoing strategic leadership, such as annual activation plans, integrated content frameworks, and measurement systems.
Leadership
As Strategy Director, you will lead with both strategic rigour and creative vision. You will foster a culture of idea-first thinking, inspire original, insight-led concepts, and champion storytelling excellence across the agency. You will guide your team to translate data into meaningful narratives, frameworks, and activations that connect insight with creativity and partnerships with purpose.
You will mentor and develop planners, analysts, and researchers, setting high standards for insight quality, strategic thinking, and narrative craft. Acting as a trusted advisor to senior clients, you will build strong relationships, influence decision-making, and ensure strategic outputs are delivered with clarity, creativity, and measurable impact.
Experience & Skills
· Extensive experience in senior strategy roles within integrated, sponsorship, brand experience, sports marketing, or creative agencies
· Proven ability to create strategies with both creative impact and commercial value
· High fluency and confidence in developing strategic models, frameworks, architectures, and decision systems — from partnership tiering and evaluation models to narrative frameworks, opportunity maps, and measurement systems
· Exceptional narrative development, storytelling, and strategic framework design capabilities
· Deep experience running complex discovery phases, including stakeholder interviews, landscape audits, audience analysis, and competitive benchmarking
· Strong background in audience, cultural, and behavioural analysis
· Proven ability to design measurement frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and data capture protocols
· Strong business development experience and proposal creation capability
· Demonstrated strategic rigour with a sophisticated understanding of brand strategy, brand architecture, and how partnerships must ladder into overarching brand platforms, behaviours, and positioning
· Advanced understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
· Excellent presentation, communication, and high-level facilitation skills
· Strong team leadership, coaching, and talent development experience
· Highly organised with exceptional project management and financial stewardship capabilities
· Proficiency with intelligence tools, research platforms, and data analysis software
