Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. The Strategy Director role is responsible to drive value with our Carelon insights vended partners. A critical aspect of the position includes developing and implementing processes to intake, triage, and vet cost of care ideas from vendors, ultimately reaching go/no-go decisions on these initiatives. Success in this role will be evidenced by reconciling our vendor and internal reporting, vetting vended value opportunities to get to a go/no-go decision, and creating processes/procedures to drive efficiencies throughout the process. The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, experience with data reconciliation, and a background in finance, strategy, or consulting.

Partner with executive leadership to define strategic goals and success criteria for the future.
Translate strategy into actionable tactics, programs/projects, and priorities with aligned timelines, ensuring the integration of both regional and enterprise strategic plans to realize the company's vision.
Develop and deliver high-quality presentations to executive leadership for strategic initiatives.
Define, develop, and implement metrics to report and monitor progress against strategic goals, ensuring plans align with strategy milestone deliverables.
Monitor, measure, and communicate progress in delivering strategic plans and the quality of outcomes.
Research relevant market trends and activities to work with business leadership on further defining business strategy, ensuring sustained competitive advantage.
Develop, monitor, and track metrics to manage budget and expenditures effectively.
Collaborate with senior teams and staff to develop tactical plans and communication strategies as part of executing the strategy.
Provide guidance and act as a decision-maker on complex projects, elevating issues to the senior team when necessary.
Represent the organization in enterprise and inter-regional initiatives.
Provide coaching and mentoring to other leaders on strategic thinking and implementing projects that deliver high returns and strategic value.
Lead breakthrough projects to elevate the business environment to industry-leading best practices.
Manage all facets of vendor interaction and management, including vendor selection, contract and rate negotiation, issue resolution, and participation in vendor business and executive committees.
Serve as a subject matter expert on projects and initiatives and approve key projects sponsored by their Executive Sponsor.
Minimum Requirements:
Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of related experience including 3 years of leadership/management experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:
Master’s degree preferred.
Strong skills in financial modeling and Excel, with experience using pivot tables for data manipulation strongly preferred.
Background in finance or consulting with experience in strategic planning, project/program management, and vendor management highly preferred.
Proven execution mindset with the ability to reconcile disparate reports, identify gaps, and align vendor and internal reporting for consistency, complemented by experience in handling complex data sets and providing actionable insights highly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, along with strong communication skills to engage with multiple stakeholders and drive strategy and operations forward.
Prior strategic planning, project/program management, and vendor management experience strongly preferred. Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.
Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.
Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.
Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Spark strongly preferred.
For candidates working in person or virtually in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $134,728 to $202,092.
