Job Description Summary

The Strategy Consultant supports enterprise level strategic planning and decision making by conducting rigorous analyses, developing clear insights, and contributing to high quality strategic deliverables for MUSC Health leadership. This role partners closely with Senior Strategic Consultants and Strategy leadership to support service line strategies, regional growth initiatives, and Integrated Clinical Center of Excellence (ICCE) planning. The Strategy Consultant is expected to independently own defined analyses and workstreams, while continuing to develop project leadership, executive communication, and stakeholder partnership skills.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Analysis & Problem Solving

  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses (e.g., market assessment, demand forecasting, access analysis) to support enterprise and service line strategies.

  • Compile, clean, and analyze large datasets from internal and external sources to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.

  • Translate data into clear, structured insights that support strategic recommendations and decision‑making.

Strategy Development & Deliverables

  • Support development of enterprise strategic plans, ICCE strategies, service line growth plans, and business cases.

  • Create high‑quality work products, including PowerPoint slides, dashboards, and written summaries, that clearly communicate findings and implications.

  • Contribute to executive‑ready presentations by clearly articulating the “so what” of analyses with guidance from senior team members.

Project Execution & Collaboration

  • Own defined project components or workstreams, including analytic approach, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, and analytics partners to ensure analyses are accurate, relevant, and actionable.

  • Proactively communicate progress, risks, and questions to project leads to maintain momentum and quality.

Professional Growth & Team Contribution

  • Seek feedback and coaching to strengthen strategic thinking, executive communication, and project leadership skills.

  • Support team knowledge‑sharing and contribute to continuous improvement of Office of Strategy tools, templates, and approaches.

  • Over time, build subject‑matter familiarity in assigned regions or service lines to increase impact and credibility.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Administration, Economics, Finance, Public Health, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred but not required).

  • 1–4+ years of experience in healthcare strategy, consulting, analytics, planning, or a closely related field.

  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to work with complex datasets.

  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with visualization or analytic tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain analyses to diverse audiences.

·       Preferred Experience: Exposure to healthcare delivery systems, academic medical centers, or provider networks.
