What is the opportunity?
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Strategy Associate to join the CEO’s Chief of Staff team in London. The successful candidate will provide analysis and support strategic projects to drive growth across the Wealth Management Europe business. Whilst being a member of the Chief of Staff team, the role holder may work on a range of different projects for different business areas.
RBC’s expectation is that all employees and contractors will work in the office with some flexibility to work up to 1 day per week remotely, depending on working arrangements.
What will you do?
Support the formulation, communication and execution of Wealth Management Europe’s overarching business objectives
Support strategic initiatives / projects across the business, including supporting potential mergers & acquisitions
Gather, analyse and present data to support strategic decision-making
Develop strategic presentations for internal and external audiences
Monitor industry trends, develop insightful reports with the broader team and with senior executives
Be a key contributor to periodic strategy meetings, where growth opportunities that impact our long-term view are discussed
Support business area leaders in the development of strategies that are consistently aligned with the company’s overarching strategy
Undertake periodic project work to dive into specific areas of interest
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Prior experience within the wealth management, or broader financial services industry, or consulting. This role is ideal for candidates who have moved beyond entry level, but continuing to build their expertise.
Ability to research, analyse and solve problems
An inquisitive and analytical mind
Ability to define problems, evaluate new concepts and identify solutions
Ability to work in a team environment and form relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
Ability to work independently
Confidence using your own initiative to get work done and to take responsibility for the delivery of high-quality work
Effective communication skills with the proven ability to explain ideas in a clear, concise manner. This would be both verbally and in writing to a senior /c-suite level
High levels of motivation, a flexible working style and a desire to develop professionally
Nice to have
University degree, or equivalent
Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and PowerBI tools. With ability to create clear, concise, and engaging presentations (additional training will be provided)
Ability to work where there is no certainty of the outcome, with patient, thoughtful, structured thinking and a principle-led approach
High levels of organization, proactiveness, and alignment with a hands-on approach style.
A strategic, data driven mind that can analyse markets, performance data and business issues to draw conclusions.
