Job Purpose

Jackson's Strategic Support Program (SSP) is designed to create a talent pipeline, providing on-demand staffing to various departments and teams within our organization. As a Strategic Support Associate (SSA), you'll join our talented population of associates, performing critical daily business support functions which directly impact customer satisfaction. The Landscape Strategic Support Associate is responsible for providing landscaping services, including turf, plant bed, tree, shrub, green roof, and pond maintenance; snow removal; property clean-up; and other groundskeeping services.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Keeps properties free of debris at the highest level of quality.
  • Mows lawns and meadows.
  • Plants, trims, and maintains landscaping elements.
  • Operates snow removal equipment.
  • Wears company issued uniforms.
  • Keeps nature trails clean and free of debris.
  • Works in a safe and efficient manner.

Other Duties

  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to effectively operate power tools and other small machines, equipment, and tools.
  • Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds, walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, climb ladders, and possess the full range of physical motion to complete landscaping and maintenance tasks.
  • Work out of doors in all seasons and weather conditions.

  • Ability to independently and proactively solve problems and address needs within procedure.
  • Flexibility with ability to handle multiple tasks and directives.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize daily tasks.

  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to work minimum of 18 hours per week up to 29 hours weekly.
  • Flexible shifts offered Monday – Friday 6:00am-4:00pm, with shifts in minimum of three hours in duration. Preferred availability during summer season between 7:00am – 4:00pm, and during winter season between 6:00am – 3:00pm

Qualifications

  • GED, H.S. Diploma, or equivalent required.

  • 1+ years of previous employment experience operating all types of groundskeeping and landscaping equipment and materials preferred.

  • Must have a valid state issued driver’s license and be able to pass an annual motor vehicle background check .
