STRATEGIC SOURCING SENIOR MANAGER - COUNTRY BUSINESS PARTNER

What you will do

In this vital role, you will drive Category Strategies and Source-to-Contract solutions to deliver quality, cost savings, and supply continuity while meeting P&L objectives across the United Kingdom and Ireland. You will lead strategic partnerships, enable enterprise-wide initiatives, and position Global Procurement as a key value driver through collaboration, innovation, and change leadership.

You will report directly to the Director for Global Strategic Sourcing in the ELMAC region (Europe, Latin America, Middle East & Africa, Canada).

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to business and leadership teams, shaping and influencing the sourcing agenda.
  • Drive a three-year savings and value pipeline aligned with category strategies and financial targets.
  • Lead sourcing strategies, RfX processes, and supplier partnerships in collaboration with Amgen Capability Center Portugal (ACCP) sourcing team, category leads and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee third-party spend and ensure compliant access to goods and services.
  • Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams to capture, track, and realize value.
  • Leverage market intelligence and supplier innovation to support business objectives.
  • Champion supplier relationship management and continuous improvement for critical supplier.
  • Ensure alignment and execution of procurement initiatives that connect category strategies with business needs.
  • Drive implementation of category initiatives to align procurement performance with business objectives.

  • Degree educated
  • Sourcing and procurement experience in a global and profit driven environment across indirect spend categories.
  • Proven ability to partner with senior leaders as a trusted advisor.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and making strategic category decisions and representing major vertical categories at top-level decision-making forums.
  • Strong change management skills to drive adoption of complex procurement strategies.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into actionable category strategies.
  • Analytical, value-focused mindset with experience managing savings and value pipelines.
  • Demonstrated experience driving supplier-enabled innovation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Biotech or Pharma experience preferred
