Purpose of the Role
• Build and grow portfolios with Independent and National brokers that will lead to increased production in our chosen products.
• Develop, retain and expand business relationship with Independent and National broker distribution channels in South Africa.
• Develop the alternative distribution portfolio, focusing on the establishment of opportunities across bancassurance, facilities/schemes and partnership channels and initiatives.
• Manage relationships to ensure that service levels meet or exceed customer expectations across all products and services.
• Execution of Distribution sales plans for targeted distribution channels, leading to increased pipeline, and recommend & promote company products and services, based on distribution channel needs.
Principle tasks
• Drive growth and develop of Independent and National Broker portfolios and achieve budgeted growth.
• Target new business and cross sell opportunities outside the Client Engagement portfolio.
• Coordinate periodic meetings with key Independent, National Brokers and Distribution partners to ensure profitable growth and relationship strengthening.
• Ensure Independent and National Brokers are clear on AIG’S distribution model and all other regulatory and compliance functions.
• Establish and develop a proactive pipeline of business, identify new and cross sell business opportunities, via Salesforce, for Independent and National Brokers and ensure a bind ratio in excess of 25%.
• Drive the adoption of AIG’s Digital platform, monitoring and evaluating progress and broker feedback, contributing to Steerco and management forums.
• Seek out and develop opportunities for expansion of partnerships and bancassurance business, where product appetite aligns
• Maintain a working knowledge of targeted Industry groups and align AIG’S U/W appetite for the target segment.
• Manage AIG’s Salesforce database, ensuring all submissions are registered, call reports are completed and campaigns are supported and information is updated for all business within the Independent and National Broker channel.
• Manage on boarding and termination of Independent Broker agencies.
• Manage designated ad-hoc projects.
Key objectives
• Achieve new business budgets through account targeting/ pipeline management within Independent and National Broker channel
• Support renewal of key renewals within designated portfolios in accordance with Profit Centre underwriting strategies.
• Increase business and activity on AIG Digital Platform across Independent and National Broker channels
• Grow the alterative distribution portfolio.
• Further strengthen & build Independent and National Broker relationships.
• Communicate and demonstrate AIG’s Right to Win in the marketplace with Independent and National Brokers
• Facilitate academies, deal days, Independent and National Broker functions.
• Ensure Salesforce is updated and used as our primary CRM tool.
• Support and assist strategically and operationally other AIG Distribution functions as well as the branch network
• Support our Multinational and Claims team and market our capabilities in this area of significant opportunity.
