Base Location: Flexible across Anglian Water region
Our services are at the heart of every single family and community in our region. Our Water Services team clean water to the highest standard, deliver it to millions of homes, and carefully manage it to ensure it never runs out. We borrow water from the environment, store it and treat it to world-class standards to supply safe drinking water to 4.3 million customers in towns and villages from Grimsby in the northeast of our region to Milton Keynes at the south-western tip.
As Strategic Production Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how water moves across Anglian Water’s increasingly connected Strategic Grid. Working at a regional, medium‑term level, you’ll create and own strategic Production Plans that balance operational, regulatory, environmental and financial priorities. Acting as an influential interface between supply, water resources, capital investment and maintenance delivery, you’ll ensure production strategy supports resilience, performance and future regulatory challenges.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and embed strategic Production Planning capability across Water Services, acting as Supply’s representative in strategic decisions regarding production management
• Create and maintain medium-term production strategies aligned to regulatory and operational needs, working with other stakeholders to ensure these are aligned across Water
• Arbitrate between competing priorities across supply, water resources, capital investment and maintenance
• Own and manage the calendar of capacity‑impacting planned works across the Strategic Grid
• Lead demand forecasting and supply impact planning processes
• Represent Supply in strategic decision‑making forums and influence key stakeholders
• Work with Capital Investment teams to identify and shape capital investment opportunities arising from production planning insights
• Own production planning performance reporting, benefits realisation and cost forecasting
Requirements
• Extensive operational experience and specialist knowledge within the water industry
• Strong understanding of water resources management, asset management and investment planning
• Proven experience in strategic and regulatory planning environments
• Ability to lead, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders
• Experience of performance reporting, financial management or cost forecasting
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
