The Opportunity

This position works out of our Mexico City, Tlalpan location in the Core Diagnostic Division.

Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers.

As the Strategic Pricing Manager, you’ll have the chance to Guides, monitors, analyzes, and provides expertise on pricing and contract terms for acquisition opportunities and Advises on deal pricing and contract terms for large and I or complex upcoming deals Utilizes Pricing Recommendation Tool (PRT) to provide pricing guidance and maintain price integrity; builds "comparable" database

What You’ll Do

  • Leads GMI (Gross Margin Improvement) agenda within Mexico
  • Actively participates in OEM Strategy initiatives (EP improvement)
  • Leverages experience with past deals to provide expertise
  • Analyzes impact of pricing and contract term decisions on deal EP and Mexico profitability
  • Maintains price integrity for acquisition opportunities
  • Monitors Pricing outcomes to track performance and price integrity within Mexico
  • Performs Pricing Analytics to identify pricing trends that impact how to price future deals in the region I country
  • Sets Pricing Schedules annually for Product (assay, instrument, service, disposables) Pricing based on local knowledge and in accordance with global requirements
  • Provides input on tender I RFP submissions / tender scoring
  • Supports Tender bids into Pricing Perspective
  • Tracks compliance with current contracts, including price increases and commitment adherence
  • Actively participates thru CMR/LBE process, leading Price increase and GMI reviews
  • Maintains pricing tools as required (MyQuote, MyDash)
  • Provides insights, input and guidance to country profitability enhancement initiatives
  • Responsible for keeping processes/policies updated and adherent
  • Provides support for internal and external audit

Key Relationships:

  • Reports to LAC Pricing and Profit Director
  • Dotted line reports to General Manager
  • Collaborate with Finance & acquisition teams to determine deal pricing and terms
  • Set and implement pricing strategy established by Global Marketing (OEM)
  • Provides local feedback to Global Tool Owner and Enterprise process lead (Sales Excellence organization)
  • Coordinates with Contract Management to complete post-signing contract entry

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Administration, Accounting, Economy or Engineering are preferred)
  • MBA is preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of related work experience in industry (medical devices is preferred) and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of the local healthcare market including pricing trends and customer needs
  • Excellent communication skills in English & Spanish (preferrable)
  • Strong understanding of P&L and how pricing and contract terms impact deal profitability
  • Strong management and negotiation skills
  • Some knowledge of Core Diagnostics (Core Dx) product offerings is preferred
  • Sales/Marketing experience a strong plus
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
  • Knowledge of Salesforce (strong asset)
  • Up to 15% of travel may be required for this role

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience covering the entire software lifecycle
  • Proficient in Cloud Software; develops tools and automation software
  • Experienced in building and managing mobile applications (iOS and Android)
  • Extensive programming experience
