Role Summary
This entry-level position supports the IT Capital Investments Reporting & Analysis team, ensuring smooth processing and tracking of technology capital projects. Reporting directly to the manager of the team, the individual will be primarily responsible for reviewing and processing IT capital project requests, conducting data analysis, and providing support to senior team members. The role offers a foundation in finance, and portfolio management applications.
Main Responsibilities
Review and process project initiation and change requests in Clarity PPM, following step-by-step instructions from managers or senior colleagues.
Assist project managers and portfolio delegates with completing forms and submitting required information for project requests.
Share regular status updates with the team and relevant stakeholders as directed.
Report any concerns or issues with project requests to a supervisor promptly for further guidance.
Support process improvement efforts and learn about automation tools as part of ongoing training.
Become an expert on Northern Trust’s project management application of choice to support data entry and reporting tasks.
Follow service level agreements to ensure tasks are completed on time and according to company standards.
Provide ad-hoc data analysis and reporting, supporting the team's work with technology capital investments.
Basic Qualifications
College degree (bachelor’s or equivalent), with a focus in business, finance, technology, or a related field preferred.
1–3 years of experience in an operations, administrative, or processing role (internships included).
Experience managing large data sets.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
Keen attention to detail and care in completing tasks accurately.
Customer service mindset and willingness to support others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Initiative and ability to learn quickly as a self-starter.
Interest in technology and a willingness to work with new systems and tools.
Working knowledge of Clarity PPM is a bonus.
Project management experience is a bonus.
Prior experience in financial planning and analysis and/or knowledge of financial concepts is a bonus
