This position will have responsibilities in two major areas: Market Development and Certificate of Need (CON)

Job Summary

Market Development: This position supports Corewell Health’s strategic growth and optimization initiatives by conducting data-driven assessments, scenario modeling, and value analysis for enterprise portfolio opportunities. The advisor partners closely with system, regional, and operational leaders to translate market, competitive, and operational insights into actionable recommendations, with focused support for high-value initiatives such as ambulatory network development and provider/facility growth planning.

Certificate of Need: This role will also serves as advisor, project coordinator, and internal liaison for all Certificate of Need (CON) functions outsourced to a CON consultant, ensuring that CON activities—including applications and follow-up, surveys, compliance, and advocacy—are executed efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct data-driven assessments and scenario modeling for strategic growth and optimization opportunities.
  • Evaluate the strategic, operational, and financial potential of growth and optimization initiatives.
  • Translate market, competitive, and operational insights into actionable recommendations.
  • Build trusted relationships across the organization
  • Support and/or lead the development of business plans for major growth or optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with and provide consultative support to System and Region Leadership in developing and executing growth or optimization strategies and tactical plans
  • Collaborate effectively within a highly matrixed environment
  • CON Applications/Follow-Up: Notify consultant when CON is needed and assist them with obtaining CON filing information.  Develop/maintain working knowledge of CON review standards.
  • CON Surveys: Assist consultant in gathering of CON survey information, including identifying sources of data and facilitating collection of data.
  • CON Compliance: Assist consultant in completing CON compliance questionnaires, identifying areas of compliance risk, and developing/implementing strategies to resolve compliance issues.
  • CON Advocacy: Assist Corewell Health (CH) Government Affairs and consultant as needed in gathering relevant information and data to develop and support CH CON advocacy positions
  • Model strong collaboration and cross-functional learning within the Strategy & Business Development department.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support strategic and operational goals.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, in business administration and/or medical administration
  • 7 years of relevant experience preferably in a large matrixed organization setting.

Preferred

  • Master's Degree or equivalent, in business administration
