Job Description Summary:
The Manager, Strategic Oversight and Planning will provide critical support to both the Director, Strategic Oversight & Planning and the VP Product and Strategy in the successful execution of Blue KC’s highest priority strategic initiatives, collaborating and leading work across departments and functions internally and with external partners. Under minimal direction this role performs non-routine tasks, with direction only at the highest level and minimal to no guidance on how to complete them. Core activities will vary widely depending on the needs of the initiative, requiring the manager SO&P to quickly and comfortably pivot and adapt to changing demands and complete activities including, but not limited to, data compilation and analysis, status reporting, facilitation of cross-functional strategy engagements, industry research, development and delivery of strategy presentations, and executive-level reporting. The candidate for this position must reside in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

- Develop, execute, monitor and measure progress toward strategic initiatives.
- Deliver assigned projects to meet target launch dates through appropriate process.
- Quickly identify and address issues that may impede progress or adoption of strategic initiatives, autonomously problem solving and/or escalating as appropriate to expedite issue resolution.
- Lead strategy sessions with internal stakeholders to foster collaboration, gain alignment, complete deliverables, and/or collectively solve problems.
- Coordinate interdependencies by collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders, working across all areas of Blue KC.
- Author and communicate executive-level reporting on key strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate effective and efficient meetings by planning in advance and utilizing meeting time management.
- Create detailed reports and presentations on findings and recommendations
- Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders – across departments, functions, levels, internally and externally to drive success and address challenges where presented.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business, healthcare administration, or other relevant academic discipline.
- 7+ years' experience in management consulting, health insurance, healthcare, strategy, program/project management and/or other relevant industry
- Quick thinker with the ability to adapt to changing business conditions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
- High proficiency with MS Office software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively and solve complex problems.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams, disciplines, and levels within an organization.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, leading him/her to dig in, identify problems to solve and opportunities for improvement.
- Strong attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the bigger picture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in management consulting or project management.
- Master's Degree.
- Experience in Health Insurance.
