This is your chance to dive into the world of state-of-the-art technologies in connectivity and situational awareness solutions. You will be working with a number of Airbus’ ongoing and planned research and technology projects in the defence and security segment.
In this role, you will support the Strategic Marketing and Technologies team in our market intelligence and portfolio positioning related activities. You will have a chance to participate in defining the future connectivity and situational awareness solutions that meet the stringent requirements of our customers in their demanding operational environment. In terms of technology, we are talking about Airbus research topics like 5G/6G critical communications and leveraging Earth Observation data and satellite communications in mission-critical, business-critical, and defence applications.
Your typical working day may include working with both external and internal stakeholders to support us in building an accurate understanding of potential market positioning from both business and technology perspectives. You will support us in collecting and building information for insights that help our internal stakeholders, as well as global customers in building the next generation of critical communications technology.
You will be working with key stakeholders in Airbus’ research and technology ecosystem. The team works on regular basis with
Sales, business analyst, and other expert communities at Airbus
Public Safety and Defence customers and partners
Industry, research institutes and universities involved in our ongoing research projects
The duration of this traineeship is six months and it will start as agreed in March or April. The position is full-time during the summer months 2026 and part-time during other times.

Who do we see working in this trainee position?
We are looking for a university student with an applicable technology-driven and business-oriented background. Ideally, you are currently pursuing a degree in engineering, business or something equivalent. Basic understanding of mobile communication technology and estimation methods of addressable and accessible markets are beneficial in the role.
