The Position

[Key Responsibilities]

 

1.       Portfolio Specialist

Play a key role to bring China market considerations and fit the China market needs in global product life cycle processes and strategies; enable asset and major LE GO/NO GO decision in CBRC

·       In-depth market and competitor insights generation. Ensure inputs to TPP/pre TPP captured;

·       Lead cross functional squad team to build robust business case.

·       Form commercial narratives and facilitate GO/NO GO decision of asset and core line extension through CBRC

·        

2.       Bridge and Advocates

Serve as a crucial link between the China and global. Ensure that the specific needs, concerns, and perspectives of China market are effectively conveyed to global and that global strategies and decisions are properly received

·       Build and maintain healthy long-term relationship with DAL and IL; Regularly engage with global and local key stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges.

·       Responsible for timely discussion and communication between the China affiliate and  global to discuss product development strategies, roadmap updates, and issue resolutions. Ensure China acceleration opportunities identified & captured

·       Actively promote the interests and opportunities of the China market, ensure that it receives appropriate attention and resources in global asset planning, to drive potential China acceleration

3.       Local Business Partner

Support and Drive informed business decisions and resource allocation through robust forecast

·     In-line Forecast Management: Take charge of Annual Forecasts and key Event-driven Forecasts for In-line products. Collaborate closely with local cross functional teams, including but not limited to CE, Access, and Finance, to build objective, rigorous forecast models.

·     Business Influence: When business expectations are overheated or overly conservative, utilize data insights to provide an objective third-party perspective, assisting management decision making.

·     Business Development (BD) Support: Support the China BD team by conducting in-depth commercial assessments and forecasts for "China for China" external partnerships and deal opportunities. Provide objective data insights to support high-quality investment and partnership decisions.

 

4.       Insight generation

Lead insight generation activities when needed

 

 

[Key Capabilities]

 

1.    Forecasting Mastery & Customer Insight:

·     Forecasting Modeling Master: Mastery in building various forecast models (Epidemiology-based, probabilistic, time series), capable of handling complex variables and outputting robust results.

·     Solid Customer Insight: Possess solid customer insights; ability to go beyond surface-level data to uncover the true business logic behind the numbers by combining qualitative market research with clinical understanding.

 

2.    Organizational Agility & Cross-functional Collaboration:

·     Capable of navigating a complex matrix organization with ease. Keenly perceive the needs of different stakeholders (Global vs. Local, R&D vs. Commercial). Build consensus and advance goals among multiple parties through Influencing without Authority in a mature, appropriate, and professional manner.

 

3.    Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen:

·     Ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations from a macro Portfolio perspective. Understand both the global strategy logics and the practical pain points of China business teams.

 

4.    Growth Mindset & Adaptability:

·     Embrace change and comfortable and capable of navigating through ambiguity.

 

[Qualifications]

·     Education: Bachelor’s degree or above in Clinical Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology, or related fields; MBA or background in Business Analysis is preferred.

·     Professional Experience:

o   5-10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a successful track record in Strategic Consulting, Business Analysis (SIA), New Product Planning (NPP)

o   Familiarity with Neuroscience is preferred, or demonstrated ability to quickly master complex disease areas.

 

·     Language: Fluent in English (working language), with exceptional logical presentation skills and the confidence to participate in professional discussions and argumentation at the Global level.
