Our work depends on a Strategic Initiatives Manager to build strategy, provide operational excellence, and help position GDIT as a strategic partner with the Department of Treasury, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and other Treasury Bureaus.  As a Strategic Initiatives Manager, you will promote GDIT’s brand awareness, manage new programs, and position GDIT as a strategic delivery partner. The ideal candidate has relationships with key decision makers in both the IRS Taxpayer Services and CIO organizations at the Senior Executive, Director and Senior Manager level as well as experience successfully managing major programs at the IRS. You will help the Federal Government meet emerging mission needs, provide leadership and foster a high performing team environment, help GDIT continue to grow and expand new business areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interface with the IRS to align GDIT capabilities and strengths to meet mission needs
  • Develop and leverage relationships with key decision makers and influencers
  • Align GDIT capabilities to meet client mission requirements
  • Lead the execution of program teams to execute programs at the IRS
  • Develop and lead program teams to develop a collaborative team culture
  • Participate in all phases of the capture and growth life cycle, providing the “voice of the customer”, including customer interactions, reviews and proposal, content development

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to obtain relevant IRS clearances
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, 15+ years of progressive Federal Civilian leadership experience
  • Candidates must have in-depth leadership experience supporting programs at Treasury/IRS
  • Candidate must have in-depth experience of IRS call center and submission processing operations
  • Proven experience driving culture change and leading a dynamic mission-focused teams
  • Strong strategic development and implementation experience, directing large teams
  • Proven aptitude for teaching, coaching and mentoring
  • Local to the Atlanta metro area and ability to travel to customer sites, as needed, is required

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with federal proposal processes, delivery and execution
  • Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional (PMP)

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $60.35 - $81.65. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
