A Brief Overview
The Strategic Finance Manager is responsible for providing tactical solutions to support the strategic direction of Stanford Health Care through complex analytic efforts, findings, and pricing of services. This role is responsible for creating, scoping, planning, and prioritizing informatics projects, including the development and implementation of pro-ration models to arrive at expected net revenue. The Manager works with hospitals to establish and meet their analytic needs. This position also works with the Vice President and Senior Directors of Managed Care to explore, research, and validate various models for healthcare delivery funding, utilizing extensive predictive modeling techniques to forecast trends, patterns of care, expected cost, and population risk.

What you will do
In collaboration with the VP and Directors of Managed Contracting, develops contracting strategies based on sound analytical insights and in-depth understanding of market dynamics.
Leads analytical and decision support functions for Managed Care Department including professional and hospital payer agreements.
Participates in tactical discussions and planning as well as external negotiations to optimize financial and strategic outcomes of contractual agreements.
Evaluates financial risks and operational feasibility of proposed new healthcare delivery and funding models such as ACO, Bundled Payment, Modified Capitation, Performance Based Reimbursement, and Employer-specific Agreement.
Provides analytical insights and actionable recommendations to senior leadership by distilling complicated models and information into intelligible analyses and presentations.
Directs the selection and implementation of specialized healthcare analytics software and process enhancements designed to streamline modeling efforts, ensuring the team leverages modern automation to support complex strategic pricing and negotiation efforts.
Collaborates with other departments and teams in support of Stanford Healthcare’s strategic objectives.

Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Healthcare Administration, or a related quantitative field required.
Experience Qualifications
10+ years of experience in healthcare data analysis and financial modeling. At least 5–7 years specifically within Managed Care (either on the Provider or Payer side) required.

Knowledge of managed care required
Knowledge of health care coding including CPT-4, HCPCS, ICD-9, DRG and Revenue Codes required

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $62.75 - $83.16 per hourThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
