Strategic Capacity Optimization Specialist

The compensation for this position is between $81,300 and $101,600 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Job Summary

The objective of this role is to apply data analytics and mathematical modeling to support capacity management and optimize production allocation within the North American manufacturing network. The role is responsible for leveraging network optimization software to develop models and provide data‑driven recommendations on production allocation, manufacturing capacity utilization, and long‑term capacity strategy. These insights will drive end‑to‑end cost savings, improve service levels, and strengthen supply resilience. The position involves collecting and analyzing operational data, identifying existing or potential issues, evaluating the implications of alternative actions, and supporting informed decision‑making.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environment / Quality

• Promote a Safety‑First culture and support deployment of Aliaxis Divisional & Global Safety standards.

• Support implementation of the Divisional HS&E strategy, ensure site accountability, and report progress, events, and initiatives to the Divisional Leadership Team and COSO.

Manufacturing Excellence

• Collaborate with Operations, Supply Planning, Engineering, and Finance to develop and implement North America–wide network design and process improvement initiatives.

• Collect, cleanse, validate, and integrate datasets from manufacturing, supply chain, and financial systems to deliver insights on end‑to‑end network performance and develop decision‑support models.

• Use network modeling and optimization software to create and evaluate scenarios related to product allocation, production capacities, and network capabilities, identifying improvement opportunities.

 • Visualize and communicate analytical findings in a clear and impactful way to support decision‑making.

• Evaluate the impact of changes in product portfolio, demand, distribution models, service levels, raw material supply, labor availability, and equipment efficiency on network KPIs.

• Support integration of network planning recommendations into production planning and scheduling processes in collaboration with the Supply Planning team.

• Track and support management of machine, tool, and equipment inventories across sites; assist Process Engineering with mold movement planning.

• Recommend targeted investments or changes to manufacturing capacities and capabilities when needed; support business case development at both plant and network levels.

• Support integration of network planning with the CAPEX planning process in collaboration with Project Engineering.

 • Drive implementation of standards and best practices across North America, including standardizing data management and improving data accuracy and interoperability across production plants and cross‑functional teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Operations Research or equivalent experience in mathematical modeling and network optimization within Supply Chain or Manufacturing.

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Data Science, or a related technical field.

 • LEAN Six Sigma certification is an asset.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in large‑scale network optimization, manufacturing excellence, and process improvement.

 • Strong understanding of Engineering, Project Management, Lean Six Sigma principles, and foundational Finance.

• Experience leading cross‑functional projects and driving organizational change.

• Demonstrated success using data insights to drive business decisions and improvements.

• Strong ability to transform raw data into intuitive visualizations.

• Expert‑level proficiency in MS Excel for analytics, planning, and modeling (Power Query, Power Pivot, advanced formulas).

• Experience with network optimization tools (e.g., Llamasoft, AIMMS, Riverlogic) is an asset.

• Experience with analytics and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx) is an asset.

• Experience using Python for analytics and modeling is an asset.

• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem‑solving, and mathematical skills.
