We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Strategic Associate to join our Strategic Sales team. This role is essential for driving our top-of-funnel activities with our highest-value prospects. You will serve as the crucial go-between for Sales and Marketing, translating market insights into actionable sales strategies and creating impactful demand generation. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter, excellent researcher, compelling communicator, and strategic thinker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a demonstrated ability to engage and build relationships with senior executive-level contacts.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Development & Outreach

  • Executive Engagement: Be directly responsible for developing and executing tailored outreach to C-suite and VP-level executives at target accounts, framing complex value propositions in a strategic, business-outcome-focused manner.
  • Engagement Planning: Develop and share comprehensive engagement plans, detailed contact mapping, and create concise account strategy briefs for senior sellers and sales leadership.
  • Pipeline Generation: Execute targeted outreach strategies—both independently and in close partnership with the Marketing function—utilizing various channels (e.g., personalized campaigns, social selling, networking, in-person events) to generate qualified leads and progress existing pipeline opportunities.
  • Value Proposition Mastery: Quickly gain a deep understanding of our key value propositions, current market trends, and the complexities of the payments and fraud space to craft compelling, personalized, and relevant prospect narratives.
  • Discovery & Qualification: Schedule and conduct initial discovery calls and meetings to assess prospect needs, determine product-market fit, and qualify opportunities for the senior sales team.
  • Industry Presence (Optional but Key): Attend relevant industry events to better understand the dynamic eCommerce ecosystem and build strategic professional relationships.
Internal Enablement & Strategy
  • Sales Enablement: Drive internal enablement initiatives, helping the sales team craft specific verticalized messaging and tailor outreach based on key buyer personas.
  • Persona Development: Take the lead in developing a clear perspective on the most critical buyer personas to target.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the Marketing team on data analysis and the refinement of sales messaging.
  • Campaign Advisory: Advise on outreach and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) campaign messaging for both 1:1 and 1:few targeted campaigns, ensuring alignment between sales priorities and marketing execution.

Requirements:

  • 6 years of experience in PE/VC Sales Development, Business Development, Account Management, or a strategic GTM role.
  • Demonstrated experience in a high-leverage strategic environment such as Management Consulting, Venture Capital (VC), or high-growth Corporate Strategy/M&A, Private Equity (PE) where exposure to and communication with executive leadership was routine.
  • Proven success in researching, identifying, and engaging senior-level and executive stakeholders at target enterprise accounts.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively, suitable for an executive audience.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret data and market insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Familiarity with CRM (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement platforms, and intent data tools.
