S&P Global

Strategic Assets Sales

Hong Kong, HK Full time

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

12

S&P Global Market Intelligence is a ~$4.9B division of S&P Global. Within it, the Data & Research line of business—representing close to $1.8B in annual revenue—houses flagship products like S&P Capital IQ Pro, Visible Alpha, With Intelligence, and API/Marketplace solutions, alongside a diverse array of specialized data assets acquired and built over time.

Across this portfolio sit high-potential solutions that, for various reasons, are under-indexing relative to their opportunity in APAC. We are seeking a seasoned, commercially strategic sales professional to join my leadership team in a role built for impact: you will identify why these assets are underperforming, develop the strategy to change their trajectory, and execute relentlessly until they are thriving.

Reporting directly to the Head of Sales, APAC, Data & Research, you will own the commercial strategy and new business revenue trajectory for a focused set of priority assets. Your initial focus will be With Intelligence, Big Dough, and Money Market Directories (MMD) —three solutions with significant untapped potential across the region. Your mandate is straightforward: understand what's holding them back, build the playbook, and drive sustained growth.

This is a hybrid role built for someone who thinks like a strategist but loves being in the field. You will work in close partnership with Regional Sales Heads to define how we take these assets to market in each territory—then roll up your sleeves to execute alongside local Sales Specialists and local Account Managers who own client relationships and bring language fluency. Your success depends on your ability to shape strategy and partner effectively in the field.

This is a turnaround mandate with the full resources of S&P Global Market Intelligence behind you. You will have the autonomy to diagnose, the authority to experiment, and the support to scale what works. If you are the type of sales professional who sees hidden potential and has the tenacity to unlock it, this role offers the depth of impact that defines careers.

The Team

Our APAC sales organization is intentionally lean, collaborative, and built for speed. As a direct report to the Head of Sales, APAC, Data & Research, you will join a commercial leadership team that includes the Heads of Sales for Greater China, Japan & Korea, ASEAN, and Pacific, as well as the Head of IR Sales, APAC.

These are seasoned leaders with deep market expertise and decades of collective experience across the region. You will sit alongside them as a specialist peer with a distinct mandate. They will look to you for specialized depth and fresh thinking; you will look to them for market access, local intelligence, and relationship leverage. The dynamic is designed to make each of us stronger than we could be alone.

This is a team that values collaboration. We move fast, debate openly, and hold each other to high standards—but we also genuinely like working together. We share an obsession with winning and a relentless focus on uncovering value for our clients.

Responsibilities and Impact

  • Own the New Business Quota: Carry and deliver against the new business revenue target for With Intelligence, Big Dough, and MMD across APAC. Your focus on these three assets will span at least the next 1-2 years, with the possibility of the portfolio evolving over time as priorities shift.
  • Drive the Turnaround: Take commercial ownership of these three assets to begin with. Diagnose why each is underperforming, develop targeted strategies to change trajectory, and execute relentlessly until they are thriving.
  • Build the Playbook: For each asset and each territory, define the winning formula—target client segments, compelling value propositions, effective messaging, and repeatable sales motions that resonate with local markets.
  • Execute in the Field: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with Regional Sales Specialists and Account Managers to bring the playbook to life. Lead with product depth and commercial strategy while they lead with client relationships and language fluency. Be present in deals, on calls, and in market—because the number depends on it.
  • Equip the Ecosystem: Train, enable, and energize regional teams to position these assets confidently. Create materials, deliver workshops, and provide ongoing coaching that scales your impact beyond what you can do alone.
  • Surface Market Intelligence: Gather real-time feedback on pricing, packaging, positioning, and competitive dynamics. Feed insights back to Product and Business Development teams to inform future roadmaps.
  • Maintain Pipeline Discipline: Keep rigorous forecasting and activity tracking in Salesforce. Provide clear visibility to sales leadership on progress toward the quota, hurdles, and wins.

Preferred Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of sales experience in financial data, technology, or analytical solutions, with a documented track record of meeting or exceeding new business revenue targets.
  • Proven experience leading market development efforts, including entering new markets or launching products in territories where you had no established presence.
  • Demonstrated success operating across multiple APAC markets, with experience navigating both developed financial centers (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney) and emerging economies in the region.
  • Experience working through partner ecosystems: you have collaborated with local sales teams who own client relationships, rather than needing to own them directly yourself.
  • Track record of rapidly mastering new products and translating complex value propositions into successful sales execution.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and modern sales productivity tools.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Domain expertise in private markets, investment banking, or the institutional investor ecosystem.
  • Multilingual proficiency (Mandarin, Japanese, or Korean) supporting effective partnership with local teams and deeper traction in frontier markets.
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus, though real-world commercial achievement carries more weight.
