The Opportunity
The role is responsible for supporting third-party vendors involved in property claims. This includes being a great partner with all vendors that execute property claim services, such as home repairs, estimates, and contractors. The individual will need to handle all aspects of managing a portfolio of contracts related to property claims and possess a strong understanding of third-party vendor management.
Key aspects of this role include:
Vendor Management: Overseeing third-party vendors who provide services for property claims. This encompasses identifying, selecting, onboarding, and monitoring these vendors.
Contract Management: Managing a portfolio of contracts with these vendors. This involves ensuring contracts are clear, legally sound, and outline the scope of work, timelines, liabilities, and insurance requirements.
Property Claims Oversight: Understanding the lifecycle of property claims and how third-party vendors contribute to their resolution.
Risk Mitigation: Ensuring that vendors have appropriate insurance coverage (e.g., General Liability, Workers' Compensation) and are compliant with legal and safety standards to mitigate risks for the organization. This includes verifying Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and ensuring the organization is listed as an additional insured where necessary.
Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
Portfolio Management: Handling a collection of contracts and associated vendor relationships, likely requiring organizational skills and attention to detail
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL.

What you'll do:
Manage supplier relationships with external partners and internal business team members.
Monitor strategic account partner satisfaction, understands, and applies data-driven insights to influence strategies to drive the achievement of business goals.
Assist senior or lead with timely and appropriate resolution of escalations from supplier relationships.
Partner with team to work with research, analytics, finance, and staff area leaders to identify, influence and lead cross departmental improvement efforts.
Find opportunities to document and facilitate improvements to processes. In partnership with senior and leads, participate in periodic meetings with senior personnel and partners to cultivate relationships and uncover opportunities to develop operational efficiencies of products.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor’s degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum 4 years' experience in supplier relationship management, to include supplier governance, procurement, and/or supply chain management experience.
Proficient knowledge and experience with applicable industry and products for the assigned functional area.
Basic Data Analysis skills.
Strong relationship management skills and demonstrated ability to influence decisions at leadership levels.
Strong issue resolution and follow-up skills.
Demonstrated experience communicating with Senior leaders and strong interpersonal skills.
Strong written communication skills.
Proficient knowledge of project management and prioritization skills.
Proficient level of business acumen in the areas of the business operations, industry practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends required.
Travel may be required.
What sets you apart:
Property Claims Knowledge: Deep understanding of property insurance policies, coverage, endorsements, and exclusions. This includes knowledge of different perils (fire, water, wind, hail, etc.) and how they impact property.
Communication & Relationship Management: This encompasses clear, transparent, and honest communication, active listening, building trust, and fostering mutual respect. It includes understanding non-verbal cues, knowing when to listen, and using persuasive language to inspire collaboration.
Negotiation Skills: The ability to effectively negotiate contracts, terms, pricing, and service levels is crucial.
Performance Monitoring & Management: This involves setting clear, measurable performance benchmarks (KPIs) and regularly reviewing vendor performance against these standards. It includes providing constructive feedback, identifying underperformance early, and driving continuous improvement.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $77,120.00 - $147,390.00.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
