JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Penn State University Press is seeking applicants for temporary part-time job of Storeroom Worker.
Job duties to include:
- Receive, unload, and unpack materials, supplies, equipment, tools, etc.; inspect quantity and product condition; verify orders and mark containers with date received; update inventory database; report discrepancies to Supervisor
- Carry or load incoming goods on pallets, skids, or carts and move to designated areas; store in proper manner, rotate stock as required; report out-of-date or low stock level
- Assemble equipment and material to fill orders/requisitions
- Prepare outgoing materials/pallets/packages for shipping; pack, seal, and label
- Identify damaged, defective, excess, or obsolete items as directed; refer unusual circumstances and/or repair needs to Supervisor
- Clean and maintain inventory items and storage areas to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Assist with physical inventory as directed
- Process receiving reports; check inventory discrepancies; check status of purchase orders
- Secure storage areas as directed
- May respond to inquiries concerning availability and suitability of equipment/tools, and concerning possible choices of makes and models
- Maintain accurate inventory records
- May operate hand trucks, electric pallet trucks, forklifts, reach trucks, and stock selection truck
Requirements, qualifications, and/or competencies:
- Forklift operating experience is helpful, however, not required
Schedule:
- Tuesday-Friday (10am-3pm)
- These positions are for up to 28 weeks ONLY
