Functional:
•
To carry out general service engineer duties (70% Productive).
•
To be the recognised deputy for the Regional Service Manager.
•
(*1) To advise engineers regarding working practices and maintenance of standards. To include Warranty procedures, IT/ paperwork procedures and to ensure all engineers for whom they have responsibility, comply with customers’ site policies and procedures when visiting for repairs etc.
•
To build and run the Team with the following aspects achieved.
•
(*2) The allocation of Engineers to customers. (Patch Management working with the RSM) This will include the consideration to the Engineer’s ability, skill match, and geographical location in relation to the customers allocated.
•
Close working relationship with the Service Controller will be expected to ensure efficient day to day running of the team.
•
(*3) To assess Engineers’ training requirements and arrange or provide training as required. This is to include advising Engineers of relevant Service Information bulletins that may appertain to trucks in their areas. Monitor and ensure Workday records are up to date and maintained i.e., External certificates are uploaded into Workday.
•
(*4) The reporting of Key Performance Indicators to better achieve company targets.
•

To be commercially aware and share accordingly with the engineering team. Liaise with RSM if Quotes require further discounts.

To support the RSM with strategic planning.
•
(*5) Recruitment of new engineers to the area – RSM to be present in the interview, however all other responsibilities of Recruitment and onboarding to be completed by the TL incl tooling, IT, PPE etc.
•
To help coach and develop engineers for performance improvement i.e., ensuring daily working times are booked so helping to reduce Time Gaps.
Job Description – Team Leader (Field Service)
•
To be Roll Model for engineering team.
•
To be able to run team meetings.
•
To provide concise and instructive technical help to the engineering team when required.
•
To liaise with suppliers to obtain information as required to assist Engineers.
•
To take on any additional duties as required by line management to ensure smooth running of the department and any other duties which arise as a result of the above.
•
(*6) To take responsibility for all equipment, PPE, and tooling (working with KION ITS inventory team) and ensure that it is in a safe condition for the type of work being undertaken.
•
Ensure high team morale and individual team member acknowledgement is always maintained.
•
(*7) To carry out Engineers’ return to work interviews. This is to be escalated to the Regional Service Manager / STILL HR if the Engineer has many instances of sickness absence.
•
(*8) To assist technical specialist with technical assistance to the team on all product ranges, and to assess the need for escalation/ training opportunities.
•
(*9) To be responsible for providing advise when required on breakdowns and servicing on customer FLT’s working closely with the Service Controllers.
•
(*10) Authorisation and control of Engineers holidays in accordance with company procedure.
•
(*11) To regularly assess Engineer van / stock audit results and supply guidance to promote correct stock levels and improved “First Time Fix” rates, and confirm correct movements of stock (Parts Returns), working with KION ITS inventory team.
•
(*6) To assist KION ITS Inventory team/ Allianz with testing and monitor web portal for testing failures. Supply replacements where necessary updating the system as required to show correct and up to date figures.
•
Deputies for RSM when required.
•
Other duties and responsibilities as may be required to enable the Group to meet future plans.
•
(*12) To ensure Health & Safety and quality standards, regulations and procedures are always abided by.
•
Attend H&S meetings and support QHSE Mangers.
•
Monitor TBT completion of the team through Workday.
•
(*13) To be responsible for the completion of customer accident reports involving trucks. P1, P2 & P3/ near miss reporting.
•
(*14) Carry out Site RAs as required (TL to be IOSH trained)
•
(*14) Monitor and support Engineers Point of Work Risk Assessments.
•
(*12) To support and escalate QHSE issues working closely with QHSE Managers.
•
(*15) Audit resident and allocated work areas/ equipment to ensure high standards are always maintained.
•
(*16) To conduct POPS/Pristine training and refreshers
