About the role
Work on a day's rotating roster, contributing to continuous support of patient care across all shifts
Reprocess reusable medical devices (RMDs) including cleaning, thermal disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilisation of surgical and medical instruments.
Work across all areas of the Sterilising Services Department, maintaining high standards in sterilisation processes and workflow.
Ensure compliance with AS 5369 standards and hospital policies for safe reprocessing of medical equipment.
Prepare, track and distribute sterile instruments to clinical areas in a timely manner to support patient care.
Maintain accurate documentation and quality control, while working collaboratively with the team to support patient safety and continuous improvement.
About you
Previous experience in a Sterilising Services Department, with strong understanding of sterilisation workflows and processes.
Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, national sterilisation standards and WHS requirements.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining high attention to detail.
Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work across a 7 days rotating roster and contribute positively within a diverse team.
