  • Department and location: Sterilisation Processing Centre, St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst

  • Salary: $64,364.88 - $73,275.93 (pro-rate for part -time) + super + salary packaging

About the role

  • Work on a day's rotating roster, contributing to continuous support of patient care across all shifts

  • Reprocess reusable medical devices (RMDs) including cleaning, thermal disinfection, inspection, packaging and sterilisation of surgical and medical instruments.

  • Work across all areas of the Sterilising Services Department, maintaining high standards in sterilisation processes and workflow.

  • Ensure compliance with AS 5369 standards and hospital policies for safe reprocessing of medical equipment.

  • Prepare, track and distribute sterile instruments to clinical areas in a timely manner to support patient care.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and quality control, while working collaboratively with the team to support patient safety and continuous improvement.

About you

  • Previous experience in a Sterilising Services Department, with strong understanding of sterilisation workflows and processes.

  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, national sterilisation standards and WHS requirements.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines and maintaining high attention to detail.

  • Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work across a 7 days rotating roster and contribute positively within a diverse team.
