Join our Ambulatory Surgery Center team as a Certified Sterile Processing Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our surgical services. This position supports high-quality patient care by preparing, sterilizing, and maintaining surgical instruments and equipment essential to daily operations. Essential Functions

  • Promote a cooperative, team-oriented work environment through effective communication and positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Clean, decontaminate, and process surgical instruments and equipment using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Perform accurate inspection of reusable items to ensure functionality and safety.
  • Sort, assemble, and organize instrument sets and trays.
  • Operate sterilizing units to produce sterile products that meet infection prevention standards.
  • Ensure availability of sterilization supplies, prep solutions, and related materials.
  • Complete daily checks of autoclaves and Steris Units using biological indicators and air removal test kits; maintain accurate sterilization logs, records, and charts.
  • Stay current with technical knowledge, equipment operation, and sterile processing best practices.
  • Provide age- and developmentally appropriate support following Age-Specific Care Guidelines for populations served.
  • Collaborate with surgical and departmental staff to supply necessary instruments, equipment, and materials for scheduled procedures.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Licensure, Certification, & Registration

  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in operating sterilization equipment, washer sterilizer, ultrasonic cleaner, flash autoclave, and high-vacuum autoclave.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with surgical and clinical staff.
  • Knowledge of basic and specialty operating room instruments.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and sterilization standards.
