Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech

Hours Per Week: 37.5 hrs
Schedule: 11am - 7pm
SUMMARY:
The Sterile Processing Tech prepares and maintains the many life preserving articles and pieces of equipment that are necessary to provide the utmost in both patient and employee safety and generate the utmost in both patient care. Follow the direction and guidance of the Central Supply Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Decontamination, preparation, sterilization and distribution of sterile instrumentation to the OR and other areas throughout the hospital.
Required to maintain and control both sterile and non-sterile supplies, and identify/remedy equipment and process failures and hazards while maintaining appropriate and complete records.
Works independently making independent decisions regarding work
Schedules nursing staff, meeting deadlines for review and posting.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma
Certification by the Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST)
BLS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Nurse Aide

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

PAY RANGE:
$21.36 - $30.51The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
