Position Summary

Division of General Medicine and Geriatrics Research Unit in the Department of Medicine is looking for an enthusiastic and independent Statistical Data Analyst II, with training in epidemiology and/or biostatistics, with 2-3 years of work experience, to join our team. Research focuses on cardiovascular disease in Haiti.

Our work includes studies in clinical epidemiology, clinical trials, and implementation science. Will report to Dr. Molly McNairy, Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, and work with a team of research staff, students, fellows, and faculty at WashU and at our international sites. Will be responsible for preparing, developing and managing observational and clinical trial databases, developing and managing longitudinal datasets, data analysis, quality assurance activities, and data visualization. Will support these data activities for manuscripts, grant submissions, and programmatic needs. Ability to work independently, problem-solve data management issues, learn new data analytic skills, and communicate clearly is key.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and analyze databases/datasets using statistical analysis programs.

  • Create automated codes to depict study metrics.

  • May collaborate with expert consulting statisticians to identify appropriate analytic procedures.

  • Audit and clean data, conduct statistical analyses.

  • Assist researchers with interpretation of statistical test results.

  • Create graphs, tables, and charts to depict results.

  • Develop narrative descriptions of results for policy articles, journal articles, and grant proposals.

  • Assist in database design.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on manuscripts, quantitative data analysis including longitudinal data analysis, multi-level modeling.
  • Complete proficiency in R and experience using Rmarkdown.

Salary Range

$53,100.00 - $90,600.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
