State Street Enterprise Risk Management - Credit Risk Analytics Internship - Summer 2026

The 2026 summer internship position sits within State Street’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) organization, under the Credit Risk function. Within this function, we are the Credit Risk Analytics team.

We are a diverse team of five professionals located in Boston, Stamford, Jersey, Krakow, and China. Our team is responsible for:

  • Enhancing credit risk models in collaboration with the modeling team and credit risk officers.

  • Managing Capital Stress Testing processes and outputs for the credit risk workstream, which directly impacts capital ratio analysis.

  • Managing the quarterly Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) production to estimate reserve for State Street’s credit risk portfolio and ensure reserve adequacy.

  • Setting risk appetite and early warning indicators for credit risk

  • Driving automation and advanced analytics (AI) to improve efficiency and insight in credit risk management.

We work closely with other ERM teams, first-line business units, and Finance to ensure credit risk is well analyzed, controlled, and monitored.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Credit Risk Analytics Intern, you will be

  • Collaborate with the Credit Risk Analytics team, Credit Risk Officers, and ERM Library team to design and develop AI-powered solutions that provide actionable credit risk insights and enable process automation.

  • Create user-friendly interfaces (UI) that make AI tools easy to access and use for stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

  • Work on scalability under the guidance of the ERM Library team to enable AI tool application to grow and adapt for future needs.

  • Participate in testing and validation of AI models and UI components to ensure reliability and compliance with risk management standards.

  • Document your great work to facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of AI solutions.
