The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a senior, high‑profile leadership role with end‑to‑end accountability for QBE’s Western Australian Workers Compensation claims business.
As State Manager, WA, you’ll shape outcomes that genuinely matter for injured workers, employers, regulators and the WA scheme — while leading a large, experienced claims workforce through a complex and highly regulated environment.
This is a market‑facing role with real influence. You’ll be QBE’s senior representative in the WA Workers Compensation scheme, trusted to balance customer outcomes, regulatory obligations and financial performance, while building a strong, engaged and values‑led culture.

Your new role
Drive strong claims and customer outcomes aligned to QBE’s People Risk Strategy — being more like a Healthcare Company and less like an Insurance Company — while meeting WA legislative and regulatory requirements
Lead QBE’s Western Australian Workers Compensation claims portfolio, with full accountability for strategy, performance and culture
Drive strong claims, healthcare and customer outcomes while meeting WA legislative and regulatory requirements
Own portfolio financial performance, including claim costs, reserving, recoveries and delivery of agreed KPIs
Lead, coach and engage a workforce of around 60+ people, building a high‑performance, inclusive and values‑led culture
Act as QBE’s senior representative in the WA market, building trusted relationships with regulators, brokers, customers and partners
Ensure sound governance, risk management and continuous improvement across the WA claims business
About you
A credible, people‑centred senior leader with deep experience in Workers Compensation or Personal Injury claims
Proven success leading large, complex claims teams in regulated scheme environments
Strong judgement across claims governance, compliance, risk and long‑tail financial drivers
Highly effective at influencing senior stakeholders and representing an organisation at industry level
Experienced operating in national, matrixed organisations and leading through change
An authentic leader who balances empathy with commercial and regulatory accountability
