Your opportunity

Lead Mission Australia Housing’s statewide operations and help deliver safe, stable homes and stronger communities.

As State Manager, Housing Operations - NT, you will oversee housing services, asset management and community development, guiding an inclusive, values‑based team to deliver high‑quality, compliant services.

You will champion integrated service delivery, lift performance against KPIs, build trusted relationships with government, partners and tenants, and drive continuous improvement so every community thrives. Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead and develop statewide operations across Housing Services, Asset Services and Community Development, providing values‑based people leadership.
  • Champion an integrated service delivery approach - oversee Local Area Plans, refine service models, and implement new programs to strengthen communities.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance expectations; monitor weekly/monthly/quarterly results, analyse data, and drive improvements.
  • Ensure contractual, regulatory and funder compliance; manage risk and quality and maintain accurate data in internal systems.
  • Manage operational budgets and forecasts, lead your  team on maintenance and community development plans and financial performance reporting.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders including government, regulators, funders, & partners and collaborate across Mission Australia to deliver cohesive services.
  • Lead continuous improvement: establish cyclical training and development, succession planning, and targeted service improvement initiatives.

Requirements for success

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, social housing or a related field.
  • 5 years’ senior operational leadership experience, ideally in the social housing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian social housing systems, with proven contract, compliance and risk management capability.
  • High financial literacy: build and manage budgets, forecasts and maintenance plans; analyse KPIs and performance data to drive results.
  • Proven project management across multiple concurrent initiatives, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Inclusive, values‑based people leadership - coach teams, set clear expectations, and lift performance.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills—partner effectively with government, regulators, funders, community partners and internal teams.
  • Current valid WWCC and Drivers Licence

Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
