Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Construct each stair system within allotted time frame
  • Meet quality & compliance standards set forth by Southern Staircase
  • Ability to position parts and subassemblies using templates or by reading measurements
  • Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
  • Verify specifications by measuring completed components
  • Resolve possible assembly issues by altering dimensions to meet proper specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
  • Keep equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Requests material from warehouse as needed
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Ability to control costs and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • Requires proficient woodworking skills
  • Able to read a tape measure and perform basic math accurately
  • Able to operate power tools, table saw, band saw, chop & miter saw and any woodworking related tools
  • Able to work in a production type environment with some heavy lifting required
  • Able to build stair systems within company standards
  • Maintain manufacturing quality, mechanical inspection tools, safety and quality focus

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be capable of working independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to push, pull, bend, and lift at least 50lbs.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
  • Other duties as assigned.
