Hourly Pay Range:
$20.69 - $30.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
- Position: Staffing Coordinator
- Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
- Per Diem – 32hrs /per 6 week schedule. 2 shifts during the 6 weeks must on weekend time.
- Hours: Must be able to work a mix of 7:00am – 3:30pm, 7:00am- 7:30pm and 3:00pm – 11:30pm
- Required Travel: No
What you will do:
- Reporting to the Director, the Staffing Coordinator is responsible for assessing and changing daily schedules as needed. Facilitates maintenance of complete schedules and resolves daily staffing challenges through the use of advanced scheduling software. Responsible for tracking and updating employee demographics including skills, certifications, point of care testing (POCT) and departmental data associated with staffing. Provides accurate record keeping of employees’ actual hours worked to assist with appropriate payment to employees.
- Responsible for the assessment of immediate and projected staffing needs and assignment of appropriate and available staffing resources for departments, based on budgeted workload statistics and coverage count reports in conjunction with current and planned patient census. Interfaces with unit leadership and Clinical Care Coordinators to maintain awareness of staffing level issues to proactively adjust scheduling to changing volumes within schedule deadlines.
- Maintains updated real-time information in the advanced scheduling system to allow for efficient scheduling of personnel. Facilitates schedule balancing by job, FTE status and shift. Receives call-offs and reviews self-scheduling shift requests. Inputs and edits schedule changes, swaps, PTP requests, leave of absences and other changes which affect employee availability including exception sheet edits for each assigned department and within scheduling deadlines.
- Enters and updates, certifications,), and licensure information into the advanced scheduling system. Records orientation schedules, new employee availability and transfers. Assists units with upcoming employee licensure and certification renewal timing updates, as requested. Creates all new hire schedules and holiday staffing schedules for all departments.
- Responds to questions from units and staff regarding scheduling issues, employee demographics, skills, certifications, licensure and scheduling system functionality, escalating issues to Administrative Director of Behavioral Health as appropriate.
- Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies and procedures.
What you will need:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of one year of scheduling experience in an automated call-center environment required
- Previous healthcare staffing experience preferred.
